Our parents evacuated our family of seven from Lancaster to Havre de Grace, Maryland where our sailboat was. We stayed there crammed on a small sailboat for five days thinking that the “fall out” would just blow over.
I distinctly remember the atmosphere of uncertainty. This also affected our future voices and we avoided locally grown farms fruits and vegetables.
I think it was more fun for us kids and my parents!
